LE MAS DES FLAUZIÈRES
The Mas de Flauzières is a farm that belonged to Entrechaux Castle in the Middle Ages. It is an old building situated at the foot of Mont Ventoux, the Giant of Provence, near Vaison la Romaine. It is owned by the BENOIT family since the beginning of the 20th century. (1919)
After studying agronomy and oenology and hands-on experience in California and South Africa, in 2002 Jérôme Benoit decided to create his own winemaking cellar and sell his wines.
The vineyard extends over the outskirts of several villages from Mont Ventoux to the protected site of the Dentelles de Montmirail.
This rare advantage of finding several appellations within the same family estate will transport you from the fruity, easy to drink Ventoux wines to the world-famous, powerful and structured grands crus of Gigondas.
The vineyard is cultivated and grassed every other row of vines.
The treatment strategy is minimalist in terms of frequency and dosage. Inversely a lot of work goes into ensuring that the foliage of the vines allows sufficient sunlight to penetrate the plants which helps to obtain grapes of optimal ripeness.
The vineyard is certified HVE3 (High Environmental Value - level 3)
