LA FORCE DU COLLECTIF
Domaine des Anges
Property of 20 ha situated on the top of a hill, on the southern slope of Mont Ventoux.
Our wines, made with Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and with Bourboulenc, Roussanne and Viognier for the whites, are aged in concrete vats, oak barrels and Amphora for up to 2 years in order to offer our customers elegant, fine wines ready to enjoy.
Our lovely little estate owes its name to the chapel called Notre-Dame des Anges, which watches over the vineyard from the top of its hill where the Romans and the Saracens once stood guard.
Their tracks, and those of the pilgrims who come here to pray for a good harvest, have dug a path into the hillside which has been winding its way through woods and vines for thousands of years, as far as the valley of Mont Ventoux, the Giant de Provence.
The Domaine des Anges was created in the middle of the 1970s by Mr. and Mrs. Swan. This English couple very quickly realised the extraordinary potential of the "hill of Angels", and created the first private cellar of the village of Mormoiron and one of the very first wine estates to produce its own AOP Ventoux wine.
Later, at the end of the 1980s, the Domaine des Anges was sold to the McGuinness family, an Irish family from Kilkenny, which has been the proud owner ever since.
The Domaine des Anges produces AOP Ventoux and IGP wines which are regularly well marked in the Wine Advocate, Decanter magazine and the Guide Hachette des Vins.
Our wines are made from grapes grown according to responsible agricultural practices.
Our environmental choice is directed above all to controlling our carbon footprint rather than a strict objective of organic.
