Domaine de Piéblanc

The Domaine de Piéblanc, created in 2014, is situated on the heights of the village of Caromb, at the foot of Mont Ventoux, in a setting of preserved nature. The 10 hectares of vines in AOC Ventoux, at an altitude of 300m, are surrounded solely by pines, oaks and olive trees. A few kilometers away, again at altitude but this time near the village of Suzette, 15 hectares of vines in AOC Beaumes de Venise as well as 6 hectares in AOC Gigondas, the ultimate land of wine, at the foot of the famous village, complete the vineyard.
The estate produces wines that are emblematic of this beautiful region by sublimating the various local varietals. Several hundreds of olive trees also allow us to produce our own olive oil each year.
Convinced of the importance of the soil and of respecting nature, Matthieu PONSON quickly began the conversion to organic agriculture. The 2020 vintage marked the culmination of three years of diligent work when the estate obtained the organic agriculture label.

Matthieu PONSON grew up in a family of epicureans. This grandson of an oenologist found his playground close to the family home and spend most of his time amongst the vines.
This entrepreneur in the digital sector did not immediately follow his passion.
But at the age of 43, he decided to change path and become a winegrower.

Driven by a profound desire to create and to go back to the land, this self-taught winegrower initially turned towards Burgundy, to found his first estate, the Domaine des Crêts, in Ozenay in 2014.
The same year, he fell in love with the land at the foot of Mont Ventoux in the southern Rhône Valley, where he created the Domaine de Piéblanc.

He strives to make wines that are faithful to their terroir in order to propose quality wines which respect the environment. That is why he quickly began a conversion to organic agriculture for the entire estate.

At the end of 2021, a cellar with a winemaking and aging storehouse and a tasting vault will see the light of day in Gigondas: a building and green spaces at the heart of an estate with low energy consumption that biodiversity.
The Domaine de Piéblanc also counts several hundred olive trees set amongst the thyme and rosemary which allow us to make olive oil from the olives harvested by hand between November and December.
