LA FORCE DU COLLECTIF
Cellier des Princes
The sole grouping of producers of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation.
Producer of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Côtes du Rhône, Cairanne, etc.
Sale of products of the terroir: tapenade, terrines, olive oil, whisky and rum, etc.
Created in 1925, Cellier des Princes is the sole grouping of producers of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. Today, Cellier des Princes brings together 189 cooperators on 580 hectares (which count a large proportion of ancient Grenache vines) and is the
biggest producer of Châteauneuf du Pape. Aside from Châteauneuf du Pape, Cellier des Princes also makes and sells Cairanne, Vacqueyras and Gigondas crus, as well as AOP Côtes du Rhône Villages, Ventoux and Côtes du Rhône, and the IGP wines of the Principality of Orange, Vaucluse and Mediterranean.
The vineyards are situated on the outskirts of the villages of Courthézon, Bédarrides, Jonquières, Châteauneuf du Pape, Orange, Sarrians, Sorgues and Camaret. The growing methods are inspired by those of Châteauneuf du Pape, so the majority of the Côtes du Rhône wines are harvested by hand. "Châteauneuf du Pape is seated in the midst of vines, these powerful vines which have no need for supports, these solid vines crowned by olive trees, which generously produce a royal, imperial, pontifical wine!"
Frédéric Mistral 1830 1914
